Having your home flooded can be extremely traumatic and when looking at the damage you might wonder exactly how you’re going to get everything back to normal. Well, that’s exactly where we come in. To help you understand the process we go through to repair
your home, we’ve created a timeline.
Each home is different and in some circumstances work can take a little longer than normal but for the majority of customers you will be back in your home around six months later.
If your home is flooded, you should contact your insurer as soon as you’re able to. If required, we’ll arrange alternative accommodation for you and your family.
As soon as we can, one of our employees will visit you. We will assess the damage caused to your home and figure out what needs to be done to get everything back to normal.
Once we’ve visited you, we’ll start clearing up your home and sorting out your belongings. We’ll get going by stripping everything out in your home, evaluate drying options and install the necessary drying equipment. We’ll then talk to you about your belongings and how we can help you replace them.
At some point in these weeks your home should be dry. In some cases, this can take a bit longer but we’ll ensure it’s completed as quickly as possible. Once your home is dry, we’ll give you a drying certificate, which builders need in order to start work.
Once your home is dry, we’ll visit your home with a builder to figure out what work needs to be done. Throughout this time, we’ll work closely with you to make sure you’re happy with the proposed work.
In this time the builders will start repairing your home. This usually takes around seven weeks but can sometimes take longer depending on the amount of work that needs to be done.
As soon as all the repairs have been done and we’ve got everything back to normal, you and your family can return home!
